Yann Bertrand, Fleurie Vieilles Vignes, 2023
Yann Bertrand's Fleurie Vieilles Vignes comes from Gamay vines over 60 years old, planted in the decomposed granite soils of Grand Pré in Beaujolais. Farmed organically and harvested by hand, the grapes undergo a long, cold carbonic maceration with indigenous yeasts and no added sulfur. The wine ages in used oak barrels before spending additional time in bottle prior to release.
Elegant and expressive, this Fleurie offers aromas of wild raspberry, cherry, violet, and subtle spice. The palate combines concentrated red fruit with silky tannins, lively acidity, and a long, gently earthy finish.
Varietal: Gamay
Appellation: Fleurie, Beaujolais, France
Farming: Organic, biodynamic practices
Style: Red. Dry, elegant, and aromatic.
