Woodward Canyon is one of Washington State’s pioneering wineries, founded by Rick and Darcey Small in 1981. Artist Series is the estate’s flagship Cabernet Sauvignon, first introduced in 1992 and made from mature vineyards selected across Washington. Each vintage features original work from a different West Coast artist, with the 2021 label showcasing “The Sentinels” by Bonnie Zahn Griffith.
The 2021 combines Cabernet Sauvignon with Petit Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet Franc from Weinbau, Sagemoor and Woodward Canyon Estate vineyards. Aged for 19 months in French and Hungarian oak, it is rich and polished, with black plum, red cherry and black currant alongside slate, olive and subtle oak. Integrated tannins give the wine a generous texture and carry through a long, complex finish.
