The Eyrie Vineyards was founded by David and Diana Lett, who established their first vineyard in Oregon in 1965 and helped introduce Pinot Noir to the Willamette Valley. The Eyrie Pinot Noir comes from the estate’s original vineyard in the Dundee Hills, drawing from vines planted between 1965 and 1974. These historic, own-rooted vines grow on volcanic soils and are dry-farmed. The 2021 is elegant and deeply savory, with wild raspberry and cranberry joined by rose petal, dried herbs, spice and earthy notes. The palate is silky and finely structured, with fresh acidity and fine tannins giving shape to the fruit. A stony, saline character emerges through the long, savory finish.
