Pagodes de Cos is the second wine of Château Cos d'Estournel in Saint-Estèphe, produced since 1994 from its own selection of vineyard parcels, where the vines average around 40 years old. The 2020 is a blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. The 2020 was aged in French oak, with 30% new barrels. Generous but fresh, it shows blackcurrant, blackberry and dark cherry with violet, tea and subtle spice. The palate is smooth and polished, with fine tannins and enough freshness to balance the ripe fruit, leading to a long, savory finish.
