Laherte, Freres Les Vignes D'Autrefois Extra Brut, 2020

$120.00

Les Vignes d’Autrefois, or “the vines of yesteryear”, is one of Laherte Frères’ most distinctive cuvées, sourced from old, massale-selected vines planted with a field blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. These vineyards, farmed organically in the Vallée de la Marne, reflect an earlier era of Champagne, where mixed plantings and deep-rooted vines naturally produced balance and complexity. Vinification is carried out with native yeasts, with aging in a combination of neutral oak and stainless steel, and finished with low dosage to preserve clarity.

The 2020 vintage is layered and beautiful. Orchard fruit, citrus peel, and subtle stone fruit are joined by savory notes, gentle spice, and a firm mineral backbone. The palate is textured and vinous, with fine bubbles, vibrant acidity, and a long, structured finish that unfolds gradually in the glass. Serious yet composed, this is a Champagne that rewards attention and time.

Varietal: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier
Appellation: Vallée de la Marne, Champagne, France
Farming: Organically farmed; low-intervention
Style: Sparkling. Vinous, structured, and mineral-driven
