Julien Courtois and Heidi Kuka farm a small domaine in Soings-en-Sologne, where Julien established his own estate in 1998 after working alongside his father, Claude Courtois. Autochtone is made entirely from Romorantin, a historic Loire variety, from vines planted by Julien in the late 1990s.
The 2019 was harvested by hand and directly pressed, then fermented spontaneously and aged for 18 months before bottling. Rich and textured, it shows ripe orchard and stone fruit with subtle honeyed, herbal and savory notes. Fresh acidity balances the wine’s depth, leading to a long, dry finish.
