JM Sélèque, Partition 7 Parcelles, Champagne, France, 2019

$186.00

JM Sélèque is a family estate based in Pierry, where Jean-Marc Sélèque works with vineyards across the Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne. Partition brings together seven of the domaine’s most distinctive parcels, with each site vinified separately in oak before blending. The 2019 is composed of Chardonnay, Meunier and Pinot Noir, from vineyards in Vertus, Dizy, Épernay, Mardeuil and Pierry.

This vintage was vinified entirely in oak barrels without fining or filtration, then aged for five years under natural cork. Dosage is just 1 g/L, placing it firmly in the Extra Brut category. Layered and expressive, it shows citrus and orchard fruit with floral notes, toasted nuts and subtle spice. The palate is broad and finely textured, with fresh acidity and a saline character carrying through the long finish.

Varietal: Chardonnay, Meunier, Pinot Noir
Appellation: Champagne, France
Farming: Organic and biodynamic practices
Style: Sparkling. Dry, complex and saline
