Jade Gross, Jabalina Rosato, Rioja, Spain, 2024
Jade Gross began her winemaking project in Rioja in 2018, working with small parcels of old vines across the region and producing wines in limited quantities. Jabalina is a rosé based on Tempranillo from La Cantera, a parcel of 36-year-old bush vines in Labastida at around 600 meters, with Viura coming from a separate vineyard in San Vicente de la Sonsierra.
The 2024 was harvested by hand, directly pressed and fermented in stainless steel, followed by six months on the fine lees. Fresh and lively, it shows red berries and citrus with subtle floral and savory notes. Bright acidity and gentle texture from the lees carry the wine through a crisp, refreshing finish.
Varietal: Tempranillo, Viura
Appellation: Rioja, Rioja Alavesa, Spain
Farming: Organic
Style: Rosé. Fresh, bright and savory
