I Pentri, Falanghina, Beneventano IGT, Campania, Italy, 2022
I Pentri is a small family estate in Castelvenere, in the hills of Benevento, founded in 2002 by Dionisio Meola and Lia Falato after years spent cultivating vines in the area. The name comes from the Pentri, an ancient Samnite people who once inhabited this part of Campania. The family works exclusively with its own vineyards and has focused from the beginning on native varieties such as Falanghina, Fiano, Aglianico and Piedirosso.
This is made entirely from Falanghina and the 2022 was fermented in stainless steel, followed by aging in steel and bottle. Dry and expressive, it shows white peach, pear and citrus alongside wildflowers and fresh herbs. Bright acidity gives the wine freshness, while subtle savory and saline notes add depth to the clean, persistent finish.
Varietal: Falanghina
Appellation: Beneventano, Campania, Italy
Farming: Organic
Style: White. Dry, aromatic and savory
