Emrich-Schönleber, Frühlingsplätzchen GG, 2023
Frühlingsplätzchen is one of the Nahe’s most distinctive grand cru sites, a steep south-facing slope of red slate and quartzite that naturally produces Riesling with purity, bright acidity and a distinctive mineral edge. Emrich-Schönleber is considered the benchmark estate for this vineyard, farming organically and harvesting by hand in small, selective passes to preserve the clarity of the fruit.
The 2023 GG is strikingly pure, featuring notes of crystalline citrus, white peach and crushed herbs layered over the cool mineral edge that defines the site. The palate is focused and finely textured, with vivid acidity carrying the wine through a fresh finish. It is an expressive Frühlingsplätzchen, with the structure to age.
Varietal: Riesling
Appellation: Nahe, Germany
Vineyard: Frühlingsplätzchen (Grosse Lage)
Farming: Organic practices
Style: White. Tense, finely etched and mineral-driven
