Domaine Simon Bize et Fils is a longstanding Savigny-lès-Beaune estate, today led by Chisa Bize and known for traditional Burgundies from vineyards throughout the Côte de Beaune. Les Fournaux comes from a one-hectare Premier Cru parcel planted in 1962 and 1963. The vineyard faces east at mid-slope, with stony soils toward the top and deeper soils lower down. The 2022 was fermented entirely with whole clusters and aged primarily in used oak barrels. It shows raspberry, pomegranate and darker berry fruit alongside subtle savory and earthy notes. The palate has good depth and freshness, with firm tannins giving the wine structure and carrying it through a long, lightly saline finish.
