Domaine Simon Bize et Fils is a longstanding Savigny-lès-Beaune estate, today led by Chisa Bize and known for traditional Burgundies from vineyards throughout the Côte de Beaune. Les Perrières comes from a 1.80-hectare parcel on the hillside overlooking Savigny, planted to Pinot Noir in 1971 and 1974. The vineyard’s exceptionally stony soils and naturally low yields give the wine unusual concentration and structure for a Bourgogne Rouge. This vintage is a fresh but firmly structured expression of Pinot Noir, with red and dark cherry, plum and subtle floral notes joined by peppery spice and savory herbs. Fine tannins give the wine shape and depth, while lively acidity keeps the palate balanced through a long, lightly mineral finish.
