Domaine Mee Godard, Moulin-a-Vent, Deschanes, 2023

$66.00

Mee Godard established her domaine in Morgon in 2013 and has since expanded into neighboring Moulin-à-Vent. Deschanes comes from a 0.7-hectare parcel of Gamay planted on sandy soils at relatively high elevation, just above her Les Michelons vineyard. The 2023 is the first vintage that Godard bottled Deschanes separately. The 2023 was made with a significant proportion of whole clusters and a long maceration, followed by roughly 10 months of aging in oak. Red cherry and plum are joined by violet and subtle earthy notes, with fine tannins and bright acidity giving the wine structure without heaviness. A stony character carries through the long, fresh finish. Varietal: Gamay Appellation: Moulin-à-Vent, Beaujolais, France Farming: Organic Style: Red. Structured, floral and fresh
