Domaine Mee Godard, Morgon Côte du Py, 2023

$60.00

Mee Godard established her domaine in Morgon in 2013 after studying viticulture and enology and gaining experience at estates including Domaine des Comtes Lafon. Côte du Py is one of her principal Morgon cuvées, made from four parcels of Gamay on the distinctive rocky soils of Morgon’s best-known hill. The 2023 was fermented with a significant portion of whole clusters and given a long maceration, followed by aging in oak for roughly 10 months. Red cherry and raspberry are joined by violet, spice and subtle earthy notes. The palate is concentrated but fresh, with firm, fine tannins and lively acidity leading to a long, savory finish. Varietal: Gamay Appellation: Morgon Côte du Py, Beaujolais, France Farming: Organic Style: Red. Structured, fresh and savory
