Domaine Jean Tardy & Fils is a small family estate based in Flagey-Échezeaux, with holdings across several of the Côte de Nuits’ leading villages. Aux Argillas comes from a 0.39-hectare Premier Cru parcel in the northern part of Nuits-Saint-Georges, planted in 1969 and 1973 on clay-limestone soils. The 2021 was harvested by hand and fully destemmed, then aged for 18 months in barrel, with 50% new oak. Red cherry and raspberry are joined by darker fruit, subtle spice and earthy notes. Fine tannins and fresh acidity give the wine structure without heaviness, leading to a long, savory finish.
