Domaine Jean-François Ganevat, Cuvée Marguerite, Côte du Jura, France, 2019

$369.00

Jean-François Ganevat returned to his family estate in Rotalier in 1998 after working in Burgundy with Jean-Marc Morey in Chassagne-Montrachet. Cuvée Marguerite is made from very old vines of Melon à Queue Rouge, a rare local strain of Chardonnay that Ganevat has helped preserve in the Jura. Some of the vines used for the 2019 are ungrafted. The 2019 is rich and expressive while retaining the freshness that defines Ganevat’s wines. Ripe apple and citrus are joined by white flowers, almond and subtle savory notes. The palate is broad and gently rounded, balanced by lively acidity and a persistent mineral character through the long finish. Varietal: Melon à Queue Rouge (Chardonnay) Appellation: Côtes du Jura, Jura, France Farming: Biodynamic practices Style: White. Textured, fresh and mineral
