Domaine de la Côte, Memorious Pinot Noir, 2023

$105.00

Domaine de la Côte’s Memorious Pinot Noir 2023 comes from the Memorious vineyard on the western side of the Santa Rita Hills, where vines are planted on ancient shale and alluvial soils just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean. The site is farmed organically, and fermentations are carried out with whole clusters in open concrete tanks. The wine is then aged for about twelve months in French oak, a portion of which is new, to give structure without overshadowing the vineyard’s character.

The aromas show dark cherry, wild strawberry and subtle herbal notes, along with a faint stony edge that reflects the site’s coastal soils. The palate is medium-bodied and finely textured, supported by bright acidity and well-shaped tannins that guide the wine through a focused, persistent finish. This is a clear, expressive Pinot Noir that captures the precision and coastal influence of the Santa Rita Hills.

Varietal: Pinot Noir
Appellation: Santa Rita Hills, California, United States
Farming: Organic practices; whole-cluster fermentations
Style: Red. Textured, site-driven and balanced
