Domaine de Ferrand’s 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape comes from 7.5 hectares of old vines scattered across cooler, stony soils in the northern sectors of the appellation. The estate works organically, with parcels planted as early as 1904 and 1910, and ages the wine in concrete and stainless steel to retain the purity of Grenache and support varietal freshness.
On the nose there are spiced cherries, forest berries and Provençal herbs, with bay leaf and pepper giving clarity to the aromas. On the palate the wine shows medium-to-full body, fine tannins and a tension between ripe fruit and mineral underpinning. The finish is sustained and clear, making this Châteauneuf-du-Pape ready to enjoy now and built to develop.
