Champagne Guenin is a small grower estate based in Essoyes in the Côte des Bar, where Sébastien Guenin represents the eleventh generation of his family to work the land. Liliale is the estate’s Blanc de Blancs, made entirely from Chardonnay grown on the clay-limestone soils characteristic of this southern part of Champagne. The 2022 base comes from vines averaging around 35 years old across several parcels, including Haut de Dion, Vers le Bois and Principe de la Terre à Pot.
The wine is vinified and aged in oak barrels before undergoing secondary fermentation in bottle, with at least 24 months of aging before release. Bottled as Brut Nature for the 2022 base, it combines ripe pear and citrus with white flowers and subtle orchard-fruit notes. There is richness and texture through the palate, balanced by fresh acidity and a long, dry finish.
