Champagne Chartogne-Taillet, Cuvee Sainte Anne Brut, NV 2022
Alexandre Chartogne is one of the most respected growers working in Champagne today. After training with Anselme Selosse, he returned to Merfy and began focusing on detailed, vineyard-driven winemaking, farming each parcel organically and vinifying them separately to highlight the character of his village.
Cuvée Sainte Anne is the best introduction to his style. It’s a blend built on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Merfy’s sandy-chalk soils, fermented with native yeasts and aged partly in neutral barrels. The wine is bright and saline, with crisp orchard fruit and a subtle richness that gives it real depth. Clear, refreshing, and complex, it remains one of the strongest values in grower Champagne.
Varietal: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and a small amount of Pinot Meunier
Appellation: Merfy and Montagne de Reims, Champagne, France
Farming: Organic, parcel-by-parcel vinification
Style: Sparkling. Fresh, salty, and layered
