Bruno Giacosa, Rabajá, Barbaresco, Piedmont, Italy, 2022
Bruno Giacosa is one of the historic names of Piedmont, known for traditionally made Nebbiolo from some of the most important vineyards in Barolo and Barbaresco. Rabajà comes from the estate’s 0.6-hectare parcel in the village of Barbaresco, with southwest exposure at around 250 meters and clay-calcareous soils. The vines were 27 to 29 years old at the time of the 2022 harvest. The 2022 was fermented and macerated for 28 days in oak vats, followed by 19 months of aging in oak and a further 17 months in bottle. Fresh red fruit, violet and spice lead into a full, structured palate with fine, velvety tannins. Concentrated yet elegant, it finishes with freshness and considerable persistence. Varietal: Nebbiolo Appellation: Rabajà, Barbaresco, Piedmont, Italy Farming: Traditional viticulture Style: Red. Structured, elegant and age-worthy
