Bergstrom, Cumberland Reserve Pinot Noir Willamette Valley, 2023
Bergström’s Cumberland Reserve 2023 comes from some of the best estate-grown vineyards in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, combining fruit from Dundee Hills, Ribbon Ridge and the Chehalem Mountains. The wine is crafted with whole-cluster fermentation and aged in 10-15% new French oak to preserve freshness and structure while allowing vineyard character to shine.
On the nose, there are aromas of ripe strawberry, marionberry and blueberry, layered with notes of spruce, dark chocolate truffle and fresh sage. The palate is medium-bodied and well-balanced, offering cranberry, raspberry, and bright apple flavors, firm but supple tannins, and a lengthy finish with subtle mineral intensity. The wine feels lively and precise without being overly assertive and is an excellent example of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Appellation: Willamette Valley, Oregon, United States
Farming: Estate-farmed, biodynamic
Style: Red. Fresh, mineral, and balanced
