Benjamin Leroux, Saint-Romain, Sous le Château, 2023

$91.00

Benjamin Leroux established his own label in 2007 after making his name at Domaine du Comte Armand in Pommard. His Saint-Romain comes from three organically farmed parcels in Sous le Château, a high-elevation site with rocky limestone soils that is particularly well suited to Chardonnay.

The 2023 is bright and fresh, with flavors of crisp apple, citrus and pear alongside subtle floral and stony notes. There’s a little creaminess on the palate, but plenty of acidity keeps the wine lively and balanced, with a clean, lingering finish.

Varietal: Chardonnay
Appellation: Saint-Romain, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France
Farming: Organic
Style: White. Fresh, textured and mineral
