Antoine Lienhardt works with Pinot Noir in Fixin at the northern end of the Côte de Nuits, farming with organic and biodynamic methods and harvesting entirely by hand. His cellar approach is deliberately gentle using whole-cluster fermentation, indigenous yeasts, minimal extraction and no sulfur during vinification, followed by approximately one year in barrel with very little new oak.
The 2023 Fixin shows red cherry and raspberry with floral, earthy and subtle spice notes. Fresh acidity and fine but present tannins give the wine structure, while the whole-cluster fermentation contributes aromatic complexity and a savory finish.
