Agrapart’s Avizoise is a vintage Blanc de Blancs from two old-vine Chardonnay parcels, Les Robarts and Les Gros Yeux, in the Grand Cru village of Avize. Both sit on deeper clay-rich soils over chalk, giving the wine a broader, more vinous profile. The parcels are vinified separately in 600-liter demi-muids with indigenous yeasts and complete malolactic fermentation.
The 2018 was bottled without fining or filtration, underwent its second fermentation under natural cork, and spent more than five years on the lees. It was the first vintage of Avizoise released without dosage. Concentrated and savory, it shows ripe citrus and orchard fruit with pastry, walnut and spice, finishing with bright acidity and a long saline note.
